Survey competition terms and conditions

  1. By participating in this promotion entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. People who complete the survey and provide a valid email address agree to receive the NSW National Parks communications.
  3. Entry is restricted to:
    1. Existing subscribers to the NSW Parks Blog Enewsletter.
    2. People who complete the survey.
    3. People who have supplied a valid email address for the above.
  4. Entry is open to all residents of Australia, 18 years and over. Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) and its associated agencies and immediate families are ineligible to enter.
  5. The promotion commences at 12:00 AEST Monday 22 April 2019 and closes at Midnight AEST Monday 13 May 2019.
  6. One first place winner and two runners up will be selected for the prizes. This is a game of chance. The winners will be selected by a computerised system that is random in its selection of winners.
  7. You acknowledge that participants can enter the draw once only and only one entry per email address will go into the draw.
  8. The draw will take place on 12:00 AEST Tuesday 14 May 2019 at NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (DPIE), 59-61 Goulburn St, Sydney 2000.
  9. The winner will be notified by email on Tuesday 14 May 2019.
  10. The Promoter (NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service) reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions or who has, in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the draw which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
  11. Entries must be received by Midnight AEST Monday 13 May 2019. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
  12. Prizes consist of the following:
    1. 1 x first prize winner will receive a FitBit Versa Lite fitness tracker ($249.95 rrp) and one 1-year All Parks NSW National Parks pass (valued at $190.00). Total value of first prize is $439.95
    2. 1 x runner up will receive one 1-year All Parks NSW National Parks pass (valued at $190.00rrp)
    3. 1 x runner up will receive one 1-year All Parks NSW National Parks pass (valued at $190.00rrp)
  13. The prizes cannot be transferred. The prize cannot be redeemed for cash. Any attempt to resell or auction all or any part of this prize will result in an immediate cancellation of the prize.
  14. In the event that, for any reason whatsoever, a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
  15. In the event that the prize winner will be unable to redeem the prize, declines to redeem the prize, or the prize remains unclaimed by COB 13 June 2019 the winner forfeits the prize and the Promoter will conduct a second draw to award the prize. The second draw will take place on 14 June 2019 and the winner will be contacted via email that day.
  16. The Promoter will send the prizes including Annual Passes via registered post. The prizes will be delivered within a week of the winner being announced.
  17. If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.
  18. Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
  19. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.
  20. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation. New dates for the competition will be decided by the Promoter.
  21. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
  22. NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
  23. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.
  24. All entries become the property of the Promoter. Personal information will be shared with the Promoter for the purposes of taking part in the draw, contacting the prize winner and distributing the NSW Parks Blog Enews.
